True Virginia Creeper. American Ivy. Parthenocissus quinquefolia
is a vigorous and handsome self-clinging vine with extremely variable leaves that are conspicuously five-lobed in older plants. They turn rich crimson and scarlet in autumn. The fruits are dark blue and bloomy. It is very beautiful on the walls of buildings.
Plant in a moisture-retentive and enriched soil with well rooted organic matter.
Prune away from windows, roof eaves in early winter.
UK Hardy and deciduous.
